Good food, great service. We recently took out-of-town guests here for Sunday lunch. We had walked around for an hour looking for a nice place with a decent city view that wasn't serving a questionable "brunch buffet". It's a good bet on Sundays, the head chef is home with her/his family, so we weren't expecting much. However, the food tasted fresh and the barbecue was very tasty. The Sunday drink specials were an extra treat which we enjoyed equally. The presentation was sloppy at times, and the appetizers were a bit of a fail (deep fried asparagus should not require a steak knife), but all in all waaay better than congealed Eggs Benedict. Having said all that, what was a huge surprise was the service: PERFECTION! Although the restaurant was busy, our party of six was accommodated right away. We asked if it would be possible to sit by a window, as we had out-of-towners with us, and the host and server promptly brought us to the huge picture window in the front of the restaurant and pushed three tables together as if we were VIPs. The server (who's name was Daryl--ask for her!) was nice without being smarmy, super efficient, anticipated our needs immediately and somehow made the time to bring us every last cup of ketchup we asked for. We're restaurant people, so it isn't often a server lives up to our expectations, but this girl was amazing...especially for an off day like Sunday. If this were our restaurant, we would definitely be counting our blessings!! We will definitely be back.
One of the Best Restaurants in Greenville. This is by far one of my family's favorite restaurants in Greenville. The food is absolutely delicious, and if you do not like smoked food, there is a large selection of non-smoked items available. The service has always been terrific, and the atmosphere is comfortable, relaxing, and downtown chic. The food is average in price, with most of the menu items around or below 15 a person. I highly recommend the beef brisket with the squash casserole, and either mashed potatoes or onion stack (onion strings). If you are planning to go on a Friday or Saturday I recommend calling a fews hours before you plan to go eat and put you name on their call ahead seating. They fill up quickly, and can average a wait of 45 min to 1 1/2 hours.
