Tips for J B Lacher Jewelers

February 12, 2013

We purchased our engagement ring here and have nothing but good things to say! It was a unique setting with a specific diamond. J B Lacher took care of us very quickly and in time for a proposal within 10 days after first stepping foot into the store!

We will never go anywhere but JB Lacher's for jewelry in Greenville. We purchased our engagement ring, wedding rings, and several other pieces here. The staff is great and the pieces are unique and gorgeous! You will not be disappointed with the service and quality from Lacher's.

Wonderful experiences with JB Lacher's! We purchased our wedding rings from Lacher's & couldn't be more pleased. We plan on many more Anniversary "sparkles " in the years to come from this store. The staff is extremely knowledgable & helpful. Hands down the best jewelry store in Greenville!

So helpful with my engagement ring. My fiance purchased my engagement ring from Lachers because his mom and grandmother both got their rings from there. The ring is absolutely gorgeous, but was a bit too big for my finger. They were very nice when I went it to get it taken down and several different sales people congratulated me. So sweet! We are shopping for wedding bands with them now and am so happy to be working with them!

Not the JB Lacher of years past. Decided to walk in "casually" for work to be done on a diamond ring setting. Because of the stone size or whatever may have been the case that day (they had no other customers at the time), I felt answers to my questions for service were 'condescending' at best. Since the white-gold setting had been made for our family almost thirty years ago by the original JB Lacher store owners, i decided to go ahead and let them do the work in securing the diamond. Went back to pick up the diamond and felt no warmth/enthusiasm by any of the staff surrounding the counters. Bye bye Lacher, I'm headed to another jeweler for additional purchases.

Made me wait in the rain. I took my mothers engagement ring ( at her insistence) to J.B. Lachers, where it was bought by my late father 65 years ago. I wanted them to check the setting and clean the diamond. I drove past 5 other jeweIry stores to get there. I arrived to find a heavy set woman going in, I asked, "are you open for business?", fulling expecting her to say something like, "sure, come on in". Instead, I got a short, "We don't open 'til ten". I went to my car and saw it was 9:50 and decided to wait. I stood outside the UNLOCKED door of the business in the cold wind and pouring rain, while I watched them windex the counters, and continue with the rest of their morning routine. They didn't even invite me in for some coffee, which I could see from my vantage point, with all the cups, fancy creamers, cookies, etc. At exactly 10:00 I received a hand motion from a man (Lacher Jr?) telling me to come in, he didn't walk to the door and welcome me in, he offered no apology and just acted like it didn't even happen! I really don't expect that they should hold the door for me, but at the same time, I watched them, and they watched me for ten minutes, standing in the cold rain and wind, outside an unlocked door, and made me feel like a big pile of nothing. They could have said, "come in, we don't open for another ten minutes, but have a cup of java and take a look around, we'll be right with you!." I guess they don't need the business, so I'll most surely go elsewhere in the future, maybe somewhere where the owners will treat you like you *are* someone. I'm giving them one star only because there is no "0 star" rating.
