Food NOT Fresh! Spend Money Elsewhere!!!!. City Range Steakhouse Grill located on Haywood Road in Greenville was a huge disappointment.

For the menu price one would expect freshly prepared food. Shrimp was rubbery (frozen thawed). House salad is a joke, iceberg and no complementary veggies, with little presentation. Sauteed veggies were soggy, clearly frozen as well. Desserts are not prepared on site, cake came to table with ice crystals / frozen. If I were the owner(s) I would address soon. Will not go back or recommend to friends or family..

A huge letdown with reheated, heavily processed food overall. Applebee's quality would have been a vast improvement and for less!......Never again!

Drowning in Vinegar. Very disappointing. The food was uneatably bad: salad drowning in vinegar, steaks with a nasty-tasting sour sauce. My husband and son cut their food up, moved it around on the plate, and sent it back. I had scallops over rice. The scallops were good but the rice was undercooked and crunchy. We complained, and the server brought back a message from the chef that the food was fine. So glad he pointed this out! The only reason they get even a single star is that the dessert was good.

The cattle car experience. Expect no less!. Large, upscale restaurant in a high traffic area. Has some interesting bric-a-brac. The indirect lighting glares off the stonework. Against the relative darkness of the rest of the room the contrast is hard on one's eyes. Also, the low light can make reading the menus impossible. Even a candle on the table would be a plus. Remember to bring a small flashlight.

Show up during "prime time" (6:30-9:00 P.M. Th.-Sa.) and there can be an hour's wait. Enough time to have ONE drink in their wall-to-wall, overcrowded bar. (One must walk past the bar to access the only restrooms.) Show up before 'prime time' and one is seated immediately. Down side to this is one gets "the BUMS' RUSH:" Air conditioning is cranked up to the point one might expect to see one's breath. Waiters appear every two minutes topping off water glasses, asking for one's order, asking if one needs anything... ANYTHING that can be done to hurry one along so the waiter can "turn the table over." Entres are delivered before one barely starts with his appetizer. NOTE: When the waiter serves 6 meals at a table versus 4, his income (tips) increases 33%!!!

Wine list is of the variety one could purchase at the supermarket.

Food quality is only so-so. Never had a steak there we felt was exceptional. Several were not tender or over-seasoned. -And we like flavorful meals! In fact, steaks were smaller and of less quality than the better steaks served at the 'family steak houses.' Nobody in our groups ever tried desserts so we cannot comment on them. -Why would want to prolong a meal here?

Prices are equal to the highest in the Upstate. Overall dining experiences are below average. Now we only dine here when we receive a gift card.

A Texan might say it is "All hat and no cattle." (This is my first "review" in this forum. I have written many reviews elsewhere.)

City Range Greenville & (Spartanburg SC new with same great everything!). My wife and I are regulars been going there since it opened and City Range has never let us down as far as quality& always has high standards.We always bring visiting friends from out of town there and they always leave saying, this is a must stop whenever we come to Greenville SC! The Portabelo Filet is the ultimate ,as is everything else including deserts.Thee ultimate dining in Greenville & Spartanburg SC!!

Something for Everyone. Love this restaurant. There is something here for everyone. I have never been disappointed by anything on the menu, nor by the service afforded by the staff. Everyone is friendly, professional and the food is excellent...from the appetizers to the full on dinner menu.....atmosphere is great. My co-workers even call this home for our weekly happy hour gathering spot, just to catch our breath after a long work week....even the customers are friendly!

One of the best in Greenville. I have lived in or near Greenville for more than 10 years and have tried many of the city's restaurants. This restaurant is one of the best in town. I like the Yankee Pot Roast for lunch and the delicious Crab Cakes and Filet Mignon for dinner. Order the Volcano desert when you sit down so it will be ready when you finish your meal. Make sure to get the vanilla bean ice cream with it. My wife is a chocolate lover and this dessert is the real deal.

Absolutely Superb!. My husband and I live approximately 60 miles from Greenville, SC. However, we look for any reason to go to Greenville so we can look forward to the wonderful food and warm atmosphere that City Range never fails to provide for it's customers. We have dined at City Range more times than one can count on two hands. We have called ahead each time and walked right in to smiling faces ready to seat us and make sure are given the best service available. The portabello filet is incredible as well as the Smothered Tender Tails and Grilled MahiMahi. If you have room after your meal by all means try the City Snicker Pie-it is heavenly. I give City Range a 10!!
