Another Happy Transmission
by Thanks2U
Dear Monty and Leon and all the staff,
I really appreciate your skilled efforts in keeping my wife rolling in style. The car really fits her well, and it is nice to know that we are driving with your expertise behind us. The new transmission is performing well and more efficiently. As you can guess, the car is running well, everyone is happy.
It was a pleasure to get to know you all while I was waiting for the car to be done. Your operation is really likeable. As I said when I was there, from the moment I talked to Leon on the phone, I knew that you were going to take care of the car's problem and treat me fairly. That is not much to ask, but it seems that such gentlemanly treatment is hard to find. While the car was being worked on, I saw how well your customers are treated. Just like me, they feel good about spending their money with you. In their unfortunate circumstances, you make them feel at ease and solve their problem at a reasonable price.
Best wishes for your continued success!

To set the record straight:
This vehicle was brought in for a clutch replacement. The owner insisted on supplying his own aftermarket, racing clutch. No work was done on the transmission.
The clutch was installed and the vehicle returned to the customer the following day.
Unfortunately, soon after leaving our facility the master cylinder failed. This is not unusual for a high mileage vehicle that is ten or more years old and is more common in vehicles used for high performance driving.
Our wrecker was sent immediately, but due to the aftermarket body kit, it was impossible to raise the vehicle without damaging the skirting. A second trip was made so that planks could be used to raise the vehicle before loading. All this was done in the rain!
A technician spent hours trying to remove air from the hydraulic system in order to save the owner any additional expense. However, in the end it was necessary to replace the master cylinder. The owner was charged a discounted labor fee and nothing at all for the two wrecker calls!
No dealership would have agreed to fit an aftermarket part supplied by the customer and towing and labor would have been charged for in full.
We would gladly have arranged a rental car if we had been made aware that one was needed. However, due to the fact that the second repair was unrelated to the first, the customer would most definitely have been responsible for the cost.
Between 250 and 300 vehicles are worked on in our facility each month, many from as far away as Atlanta and Charlotte. Our goal is to make each experience a good one for our customers.
It is unfortunate that this young driver felt it necessary to discredit a company that has spent years building a reputation for being fair and honest. Throughout our thirty odd years in the transmission business we have realized that despite our best efforts it is difficult to please everyone, but this will certainly not keep us from trying.
Sincerely,
Leon Jacobs
